Masters Recap & How to Get a Ticket for 2019 Masters Tournament!

Every year, Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) holds the Master Tournament which has become the haven of some golf’s majestic moments. This year’s Master Tournament was held last April 5-8, 2018 at Augusta National Golf Club, state of Georgia.

It opened with a surprise announcement of first-ever Augusta National Women’s Championship to be held next year! Which made the fans get crazy in anticipation.

But before we jumped to the next year’s Masters, let’s have a quick recap of 2018 highlights and winning moments!

Players from all over the world have joined the said tournament. They are enthusiast golfers from Thailand, Argentina, Spain, England, South Africa, Canada, Japan, Korea, Germany, China, Scotland, N. Ireland, Italy, Chile, Sweden, Belgium, India, Fiji, Venezuela, Austria, Wales, United States of America and of course Australia.

The Course

Every year Augusta National Golf Club’s Course experience the hyped of golfers all over the world! The excitement this year was towering the eagerness of the favorites to bring home the famous green jacket and take home the $ 1, 980, 000 payout!

So here are the highlights of the game:

Round 1: Thursday, April 5, 2018 - Jordan Spieth Hit the First Round

On the first day of the Masters, the gate opened at exactly 8:00 in the morning and was closed thirty minutes after.  

A very intriguing first round! The 2015 winner Jordan Spieth retains a strong lead coming off the course — and he finished with a 66, shooting 6-under on the day. He has a two-stroke lead with everyone else had finished their rounds, the reigning champion Sergio Garcia took 13 on a single hole.

But that was just the beginning of Spieth’s run. He birdied five, before making a bogey on his final hole of the first round. On the other hand, Tony Finau and Matt Kuchar finished tied for second place at 4 under par. Henrik Stenson, Patrick Reed, Adam Hadwin, Charley Hoffman, Rory McIlroy Hao-Ton Li and Rafael Cabrera-Bello finished the first round tied for fourth, at 3-under-par. Tiger Woods was tied for 29th place after a 1-over-par 73.

Round 2: Friday, April 6, 2018 - Patrick Reed is the Leader

The second round was led by Patrick Reed. He finished the first round of the Masters at 3-under-par for a share of fourth place. Reed continued what he had started in the first round. He fired with three birdies on the first three holes in the second round. His good performance continued throughout the day as he finished with 9 birdies to sit at 6-under-par for the day and a tournament-leading 9-under-par after two days of the game.

Marc Leishman stands at second place after carding a 5-under-par 67. He birdied the first 3 holes of the day, followed by a masterful eagle on par-5 hole No. 15. Henrik Stenson finished in third place at 5-under-par.

Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth, both at 4-under-par, currently sit in a tie at fourth place.

Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson are tied for sixth place at 3-under-par. Tiger Woods was tied for 40th place after a 3-over-par 75 round on Friday.

Round 3: Saturday, April 7, 2018 - Masters Tee Time

The third round was still owned by Patrick Reed, as he shot a 5-under-part 67 to take command on a wet Saturday.  Rory McIlroy, who tied for the lead on the front nine, stayed in second at -11 par, with Rickie Fowler five strokes back of Reed for third. Tiger Woods had been more frustration in the third round and remains tied for 40th after an even-par 72.

Every sport has a winner and a loser, a villain and a hero, strongest and the weakest, persistent and hesitant. This year’s hero had filled the course with excitement by executing a superb performance up to the last hole.

A not-so-famous but surely a deserving one, Patrick Reed, got the first place. For him, it was never easy to compete with the best golfers around the world and own the Green Jacket. Reed had to go through his opponent’s might to reach his destination.

According to pga.com, Rory McIlroy came after him early. Jordan Spieth briefly tied him for the lead. Rickie Fowler birdied the last hole which leaves him thinking “there’s no more room for an error now.” Reed wasn’t trembled by that, calmly rolling in a 3-foot par putt for a 1-under 71 and a one-shot victory.

Even though he knew that the loudest cheers were for everyone else, Reed earned all the respect with two big birdie putts on the back nine, one key par and plenty of grit.

PGA.com: Patrick is a 27-year old golfer who lives in Texas and has become the fourth straight Master's tournament champion to win his first major.

Fowler holed an 8-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a 67. He had to settle for his third runner-up finish in a major. He left the scoring cabin when Reed two-putted for par down the slippery slope on the 18th green and waited for a chance to greet Reed.

Whether you are a villain or a hero, being on the golf course is one of the most fulfilling feelings for a golfer like you.

The 2018 Master Tournament had again gave the golf enthusiasts an opportunity to showcase their ability, skills and techniques what more the 2019 Masters next year?

With the surprise announcement of Augusta National Women’s Championship, it will be more exciting and will fantastic moments and records on the course.

I know you have more $155 to shell out per day, but you are lucky enough if you will be picked to purchase the tickets among the thousands on aspiring golfers and fans wishing to get their slots.  And take note if you are one lucky fellow, you’ll be paying the fee ahead of time.

So, there are only two things which can land your feet on Augusta’s course, It’s either you have the skills, or you have the luck!
