England's Matt Fitzpatrick demonstrated his mental toughness last year with an incredible fairway bunker shot into the 18^th green & taking down Will Zalatoris sealing the  U.S. OPEN victory at Brookline in Boston 2022. Cam Smith, the reigning Open Champion form has been trending positively. However, it's the appearance of amateur Karl Vilips adds an extra dose of intrigue to the Aussie contingent. Vilips, also known as ( koala Karl ) was able to bag himself a spot in this year’s U.S. OPEN by Winning a qualifier named ‘Golf’s Longest Day’; a 36-hole 1-day event in the USA where the Perth native shot an impressive -4 total for the day to win the event and to book his ticket to the 123^rd U.S. OPEN.  AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE.
